Every registered taxpayer under GST gets their own account on the Government portal.
The username is a unique name selected by taxpayer or provided by the government for accessing the Government Portal. The username can be alphanumeric or contain special character.
With the help of Username the taxpayer can access the GST Portal (https://www.gst.gov.in/) for filing the GST Returns, Payment of Taxes and other services.
In Case of forget username:
If Taxpayer forget the username which was created by them, Then GSTN provide a facility to recover it.
Steps for getting username:
Access the GST Portal at https://www.gst.gov.in/
Click on Login
Click on Forgot username as seen in image as below:
3. After clicking forgot username the next screen will appear as shown below:
You have to put any of this: Provisional ID/GSTIN/UIN and click on generate OTP
On registered Mobile no.
After authenticating with the OTP that comes on your registered mobile number, username shall be recovered.
